When the great disruption comes, there’ll be no economic growth; the stock market and stock brokers will be gone. The rich will just stay rich, building ever bigger castles and have to stay inside their enclaves from then on. When the great disruption comes there’ll be no more wasteful shopping ‘cause there won’t be extra money to spend. There’ll be no more entertainment by conspicuous consumption ‘cause our economy will come to an end. When the great disruption comes, there’ll be no point taxing rich folk; they will just jump off the sinking ship of state. Don’t expect to find their money, ‘cause it’s gone to Costa Rica; the Great American Dream will have to wait. When politicians hit the airwaves, don’t believe them when they tell us that we’ve got nothing to fear. The world cannot sustain the way that we’ve been living; The Great Disruption’s drawing near. When the Great Disruption comes, there’ll be no more country churches, maybe no little churches anywhere, Just the biggest ones of all who have grown to be successful ‘cause they have the biggest donors there. When the Great Disruption comes, there’ll be no more Sunday drivers, maybe no private driving at all, Except for those who are still squabbling utilizing drastic tactics over the ever-shrinking puddle of oil. When the great disruption comes, there’ll be no pre-emptive strikes; there’ll be insufficient funds for making war. Our bombs will gather dust ‘cause we can’t afford the fuel to fly them overseas anymore. When politicians hit the airwaves, etc. When the Great Disruption comes, hospital administrators will be sitting pretty, high on the hog, While the rest of us are desperate ‘cause we haven’t got insurance and our health has gone to the dogs. When the Great Disruption comes, there’ll be natural disasters like hurricanes, flooding, and drought. Don’t look for help from government ‘cause they already spent the money on helping the fat cats out. When politicians hit the airwaves, don’t believe them when they tell us that we’ve got nothing to fear. The world cannot sustain the way that we’ve been living; The Great Disruption’s already here!

Care Enough 04:32
Someone once discovered that people don’t feel good. They don’t seem to love themselves the way they really should. So they took us to extremes of self-centered behavior, taught us that we ourselves are our only savior. Maybe someone told you, “You ain’t worth a blessed thing.” Maybe you know the pain that such words can bring. But people need to see the magic only you can do by looking out beyond yourself to someone next to you. Chorus: Do you care enough? Do you care at all? Do you care enough To look, look beyond yourself? I see people living for themselves in every way, Only one thing to do, only one thing to say: “I know what I want, and I want it now. If that hurts your feelings, I’ll get it anyhow.” I hear people talking; they’re talking ‘bout themselves. The only thing that matters is their precious, personal wealth, Move out beyond yourself; leave your little shell. Don’t you care that the girl next door is in a living hell? Chorus All the self-help gurus and every psychic seer Tell you to love yourself, go worship the mirror. If that’s really true, why don’t you go and kiss yourself? Don’t you know that you need to love somebody else?

Too Far Out 05:39
I had a vision that planets in the sky moved into formations delightful to the eye. The beauty of the night sky so captured everyone They met together to celebrate when their day was done. Knowing that they’d never see these things again, People stopped their violence, and war came to an end. They thought about their children and the future of their race. They chose to live this new way when the stars had left their place. A simple glimpse of beauty, big changes brought about. I had a vision, but it was too far out. I had a dream that eruptions on the sun Caused the grid to stop and panicked everyone. Without the power for radar, the missiles couldn’t fly. People had to trust their neighbors to get by. Living without computers, we sought a way to live. When we asked our elders, they had a lot to give. Farmers and musicians all did what they could, Giving of themselves to help the common good. Compassion spread like wildfire; a new day had dawned. We carried on when the eruptions were gone. The rightness of this lifestyle left no one with a doubt I had a dream, but it was too far out. I’ve got an idea that is closer to the earth. Mankind has a crisis when climate change gets worse. We choose to use technology and all our mind and skill. We’ve solved big problems before, and we can solve them still. We analyze the data; we open up the door To manage our resources and the hunger of the poor. No one needs to starve if we implement a plan. We can do things together that, alone, no one can. We choose to work together for the future of the race. There are things we can do together that alone we couldn’t face. Together we stop the things that harm this fragile world. Together we feed the hungry and heal our planet earth. We finally realize what each person's worth. The beauty of this idea makes me want to shout. I’ve got an idea, but is it… I’ve got one idea and you’ve got two. Let’s put ‘em all together and see what we can do. It’s only one, and there are plenty more. Let’s find out what unites us and what we’re really living for.

Out of Tune 03:07

I’m having trouble being on time, but I wonder if the clock I’m watching isn’t mine If I turn up for something a half an hour late, will a conjunction of forces determine my fate? What if I come too soon, like I’m ahead of the beat; will my destiny and I never get to meet? I spend my life wondering what to do, but my favorite time of all is the time I spend with you. I’m having trouble telling the time; clocks for every time zone tick in my mind. Their quantifications don’t make sense anymore; they just don’t feel the way they did before. Can someone tell me: what does the clock say? How can we have time or give it away? If I give it away, does that reduce the time that I get to exist in this mortal life? I’m having trouble keeping track of time; it slips through my hands to a place I can’t find. Time waits for no one; it’s always on the go; when it’ll stop, nobody knows. Will there be a moment when time has run out? If I don’t happen to notice, would someone please shout? But time marches on; it hasn’t ended yet; there’s something more; I still have a few breaths.

Honeysuckle 03:46
When Honeysuckle’s in the air, I declare that there’s no finer aroma anywhere. But, wave a Gardenia in front of me, I’ll change my mind; It’s hard to stay faithful all of the time. When gardenia’s in the air, I declare That there’s no other fragrance that smells so fair. But wave some Jasmine in front of me, you’re likely to find That it takes a special place in the garden of my mind. Forget the dumb air freshener; just go out a bit. If it’s summer in the Carolinas, you might just catch a whiff. The mock orange in your back yard will help you to relax, Or maybe it’s your neighbor’s roses that stop you in your tracks. When there is jasmine in the air, I will declare that there’s no other odor for which I care. But wave some honeysuckle in front of me, and you’re likely to see that all of these things are important to me. Is it my short-term memory that makes me soon forget Yesterday’s pleasures and long for things that aren’t here yet? Susceptible to distraction, attention deficit, Fickle by nature, or simply full of it.

Narcissus 03:53
He walks past the storefront with all its worldly wares; He’s immune to the young things, their glances and their stares. He looks in the window, and they think he’s found a prize, But he’s admiring his image and the beauty of his eyes. Chorus: Like a Greek god, he is fickle and capricious. Like a serpent, he is cunning and malicious. Like a Centaur, he’s an egocentric hedonist. He’s his own best devotee; he’s a narcissist. His love and understanding are things you’ll never earn. If you give him your affection, you’ll get nothing in return. He’s the queen of the hive; he’s an over-pampered drone. He finds his favorite companion when he finds himself alone. Chorus Capable of cruelty, immune to pangs of guilt, He finds his amusement in words that make you wilt. He’s the center of creation; around him revolves the sun. He is cannot see the beauty of when the many become one. Chorus

Let this become memory The worst is yet to come And all these points we've argued We still agree on some And when all faith is lost Is it all right to laugh? You can lead with all new lines If you believe in what you say And life can be just as you make it Believe the lie and it will all come true If you believe in every lie You're never free to walk away You should be free to go today Believe the lie and it will all come true So let's pretend you're listening And all the rules get stretched Who's the first to turn their back? Revealing not their best And finally right reaction It's like floating on a raft You can lead with all new lines If you believe in what you say And life can be just as you make it Believe the lie and it will all come true If you believe in every lie You're never free to walk away You should be free to go today Believe the lie and it will all come true

Squire is a squirrel who loves his kin. His nephew and his niece live in trees near him. A squirrel loves their nest, but Squire loves them best. Their mother is long gone; their father is a mess. Squire loves funny words that make him laugh. Like zygote, ataraxia, and epigraph. Not everyone appreciates his love for words. His polysyllabic utterances make him sound absurd. Though pompous and fussy he might seem. He’s more down to earth and kind than others might deem. If anyone is needy, he will do his part. He’s helpful to strangers and has a hero’s heart. Squire loves the friends that live near his home. He’s not the sort who wants to wander and roam. But fate has other things in store than his comfort and kin. He’s heard mysterious music that’s taken hold of him, Some music that has taken hold of him.
